I really need to blog more...

.....and lily is making me feel bad and putting my 22 posts (now 23!) to shame! hehe! Am really happy today as have got my work experience with Kuccia, which is really exciting, and whats even better is that I can do it from home and hopefully work at the same time! Meaning more money to pay off the ever increasing overdraft, wohoo! And am really looking forward to hearing what they ask me to do, just hope I can come up with some good ideas! xx

GoldCoast Oceanfest

Went to GoldCoast Oceanfest last night and after a few sneaky drinks on the beach, went to watch Newton Faulkner and Jason Mraz. Was a really good night but feel they tried to pack in as many people into a tiny space so kinda ruined the atmosphere a bit.... bring back the old GoldCoast when it was free and for the locals, was so much better!

Discovered this brand last week when my boss at work showed me their summer catalogue and I love it! The collection is women's surf wear but with a more fashion-focused, feminine approach to the standard surf brands out there at the moment. The dresses, jumpsuits and bikinis use bold prints, colours and cut to potray this sexy surf image. Would love the chance to do work experience with the company so finger's crossed!

Am still waiting to hear back from Tiki, the wetsuit company, as I have applied for work experience there.... am hoping I can go there for a week and see how they design their products!

Falmouth Fashion Show!

Friday night was our big fashion show and it went really well! spent most of the day folding programmes and then putting fake tan on the models, which was pretty fun! All of the clothes looked amazing and were really well styled... i loved the performance sportswear's Ski Wear and was happy with with my tennis dress too! I liked seeing all the fashion pieces too as haven't seen them all before so that was good! Anyway, will try and get some pics of the show soon to upload!

It's Finished!

My wetsuit is finally finished! Really pleased that it went well and hope that my crit goes ok tommorow, am happy with the print and the stitching as was certain it was going to go wrong at some point! I think the back fits the best and the seam lines are flattering. Only thing I could have improved on is adding more Gul logos as only have a small one on the sleeve.. Anyway, let me know what you think.

I Hate Sewing!

I spent all of last weekend making toilles to try and get my wetsuit to fit properly and after several attempts it finally works, wohoo! lets hope the real thing goes ok, im halfway through so theres still time for it to go wrong but its looking good so far!!

Wetsuit Disasters!

Everything seems to be going wrong with my wetsuit at the moment so am a bit stressed as we only have a week left to finish it! But i won't let it beat me even if I do have to spend my saturday sewing...noooooo. I'm really happy with the print though as I'm planning on printing my design of birds wings on the front chest panel so hopefully that will turn out ok!

Geeks

I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a geek for doing my essay a week early....

I wish I was blonde....

....not that I'd look anything like this but hey. Stumbled across these photos while looking for ideas to change my hair colour and I love them, it's a shoot for Elle UK, Jennifer Aniston looks amazing and I really like the photography. (I stayed brunette in the end though!)

My Ski Jacket...

I photographed my Ski Jacket that I made last term in Falmouth the other day, the shoot went really well, although it was so windy it was impossible to do anything without your hair flying everywhere! Sam Camfield, a press photography student took mine and my friend Stacey's photo's for us and I think they've turned out really well! :)

I really love this bikini by Michael Kors... the prints in this new collection are really stunning, they range from feather like shapes in pinks and purples to zebra inspired black and white stripes, gorgeous!

Travelling...

Its getting nearer and nearer to summer and I want to go travelling again! Last summer I backpacked around Europe with my boyfriend and saw some amazing places....although staying in a tent for most of the 2 months was not the best idea! Venice was one of my favourite places as it was so different and had a really magical feel to it. Anyway, this summer I've decided to be sensible and save my pennies for my final year at uni... or could put it towards a round the world ticket?!

After reading one of her autobiographies, I have recently come to really admire Katie Price.. .she really knows how to promote herself and make a sucess of her many projects that she works on: from her modelling to writing books, staring in her own tv show, looking after her 3 children and launching her own equestrian range... while some people may think that some things she does are a little bit tacky, you've gotta admire her determination and her ability to suceed in the many things she's done.

I've got 5 weeks to design and make a wetsuit! At the moment, I've started to design but am a little stuck so I decided to look for some inspiration and came across Speedo's range of bodyskins and kneeskins for swimming.
